Ian was educated at Poole Grammar School and Oxford University and has spent over 35 years in the accountancy profession.
He trained in the Poole office of a national firm and qualified as an ICAEW Chartered Accountant in 1984. Ian remained in Dorset and held managerial posts in international firms, taking responsibility for small business clients, before joining Edwards & Keeping as a partner in 1991.
Ian's main areas of expertise are advising owner-managed businesses, fiscal share valuations, and estate administration. As Senior Audit partner, he is responsible for providing cost-effective audit services to our corporate clients, as well as solicitors and other professionals who hold client money. He is also heavily involved with the running of the extensive Poundbury development in Dorchester.
Ian has been married to Deborah for 28 years after meeting her on holiday, in Peru in 1986. Deborah shares Ian’s love of dogs, walking and travelling. He can also be seen playing racketball, having previously enjoyed playing competitive squash and badminton.
